The 11th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Premier Bank Limited was held on March 23, 2010 at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre, Sher-E-Bangla Nagar, Agargaon, Dhaka-1207. Dr. H.B.M. Iqbal, Chairman of the Board of Directors presided over the meeting. The Bank declared 30% stock dividend for the year 2009 as approved by Security Exchange Commission (SEC) & Bangladesh Bank (BB).

Dr. H.B.M. Iqbal, the Chairman informed the shareholders that during the year 2009 the Bank earned operating profit of Tk. 139.19 crore which showed a growth of 9.34 percent compared to previous 2008. Total deposit of the Bank rose by 16.00 percent over the last year to reach the total of Tk. 3782.20 crore. Total loans and advances stood at Tk. 3,366.46 crore at the end 2009 yielding a significant growth of 11.03 percent. After detailed review the shareholders approved the accounts & Directors Reports and Dividend @ 30% for 2009 in the form of Bonus Share. The Chairman appreciated the support of the Board Members and the effort made by the Management team to bring about improvement in the operations of the Bank. He also thanked & admired the valued customers of the Bank for their continuous support over the last couple of years. To meet the challenge of globalization, he advised the management to prepare a business plan for the Bank.

The Shareholders thanked Dr. H.B.M. Iqbal, the Chairman for his immense contribution to the Bank. They also thanked others Board of Directors and Bank Management for reducing Bad Loan and improvement of profit growth of the bank in their AGM speech.

Vice Chairman of the Board of Director B.H. Haroon MP, Director Kazi Abdul Mazid also spoke on the occasion. Among others Directors, Mr. Moin Iqbal, Mr Md. Imran Iqbal, Mr. Shah Md. Nahyan Haroon, Mr. Md. Masud Zaman, Mr. Md. Lutfur Rahman, and Bank’s Company Secretary Syed Ahsan Habib were also present on the occasion.
