M. SHAH ALAM SARWAR: New Managing Director of Premier Bank
M. Shah Alam Sarwar has taken over as the Managing Director of The Premier Bank Limited. He has joined the Bank after a successful career of about 26 years in multinational & private sector Banks & Financial Institutions. Prior to his joining the Premier Bank limited he held positions at United Commercial Bank(UCB) as Additional Managing Director and acting Managing Director and at IPDC as Managing Director. He started his career in ANZ Grindlays Bank as Management Trainee in 1982, and held senior Management positions at American Express Bank (AMEX) and Standard Chartered Bank and ANZ Grindlays Bank. Mr. Sarwar has a well rounded banking career home and abroad, where he lead organizations in Corporate & Retail Banking, Credit Risk Management, operations and Business transformation Projects. Mr. Sarwar has taken part in numerous professional trainings/workshops, seminars & symposiums and visited a good number of countries in business connection and is contributing electronic and print media on banking and management issues. Mr. Sarwar has a good academic record. He is a Master of Social Science (MSS) from the University of Dhaka with Honors in Economics and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Victoria University, Australia. Besides, he is the Founding Member of World Literature Centre and Founder General Secretary of University Debating Society, Dhaka University. He is married and a father of 02 children.
