The Premier Bank Limited has signed an agreement with Grameen Phone to provide Inward Foreign Remittance Services to the population of remote location of Bangladesh using mobile phone technology. Under this agreement beneficiaries of Bangladeshi expatriates will receive their money from The Premier Bank through Grameen Phone’s designated outlets/distribution channels. However, the beneficiary will not have to pay any fee avail the services.
The signing ceremony was held on May 17, 2010 at the Head Office of The Premier Bank Limited, Iqbal Center, Banani, Dhaka. Mr. Niaz Habib, Managing Director of The Premier Bank Limited and Mr. Oddvar Hesjedal, Managing Director & CEO of Grameen  Phone signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. Members of the Board of Directors of the Bank Mr. Kazi Abdul Mazid, Mr. Md Imran Iqbal and Mr. Shah Mohammad Nahiyan Haroon witnessed the Signing Ceremony
Among others Additional Managing Directors Abu Haniff Khan, Mokhlesur Rahman and Mohammad Abu Musa, Head of International Division Mr. Shamsul Huda Khan, Project Director – IT Ahmad Tabshir Chowdhury and from Grameen Phone Deputy Director (Financial Service) Mr. D H Azad, Head of Business Development Mir Rashedul Hasan, Manager Business Development (Financial Service) Mr. Mohammad Rizwanullah were also present on the occasion.
